Let’s talk about the best mascaras for women over 50+!
We women, 50 and over, know that as we age our eyes need a little extra love and care. That’s why I put a list together of my favorite mascaras for common issues we may encounter as we get better with age.
For Watery Eyes
Check out the Clinique Lash Power Long-Wearing Formula. I love that this mascara won’t smudge with rain, sweat, or tears, yet comes off easily with warm water. Often times, those who deal with mascara smears opt for a waterproof variety. The problem with waterproof mascara is that it leaves you scrubbing your eyes to get it off, which in the long run, just may leave those lashes even more sparse, however, this mascara washes off easily. Get it for $22.35 here.
For Sensitive Eyes
My pick is Beauty Counter’s Lengthening Mascara. This company has made a commitment to use safer, non-toxic ingredients, but still deliver high-quality products. They even created The Never List of chemicals that they refuse to put in their products.
Another one that I love is the bareMinerals Flawless Definition Mascara. bareMinerals aims to change the beauty industry by keeping the minerals that go into their products pure and nourishing. Get it here.
For Sparse Lashes
My pick is the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara. Not only does this mascara impart volume, but it also stays put all day. That means you don’t have to worry about re-applying. It’s a bit pricier, but in my opinion, worth the splurge if mascara is vital to your makeup routine. Get it here.
Another one that I love is Benefit’s “They’re Real!” Lengthening Mascara. This is just an all-around great mascara. Not only will it give you some serious volume but it also separates lashes so you can avoid spider lashes! Get it here.
