My beauty tips have been well received, which led me to think that I’ve been remiss in mentioning the absolute, hands down, most important tip for looking gorgeous after 50… the best magnifying mirrors so that you can see what you’re doing, Darling! I hope you get a chuckle over this tip and yet, at our age, you probably know that I’m very serious.
Here are the best magnifying mirrors to try…
The Tweezerman Experience!
Tweezerman LED Lighted 15x Magnifying Mirror – We all know how amazing Tweezerman tweezers are, but so are their mirrors; especially this magnifying mirror. It’s perfect for travel as well. From applying makeup to putting your contacts in, to tweezing those stray brows, never miss a thing with the crystal clear image and illuminating perimeter.
The Energy-Efficient Conair!
Conair Satin Chrome LED Vanity Magnifying Mirror – I love the lighting on this Conair magnifying mirror. Not only are the lights energy-efficient, saving up to 70% more energy than most mirrors, but they boast a lifetime guarantee so you’ll never have to change the bulb. The satin chrome finish makes it the perfect addition to a chic bathroom. At only $39.99 I think it really is one of the best magnifying mirrors out there on the market.
Motion Sensor Mirror + Natural Light Simulation
Simplehuman Mini Sensor Mirror – I adore lighted magnifying mirrors, but sometimes the lights aren’t natural. That isn’t a concern with this mirror by Simplehuman. The lights simulate natural sunlight so one never has to worry about unblended or uneven makeup again. The lights are also rechargeable so this is the perfect mirror for traveling and they are even motion sensored so they’ll automatically turn on when it’s time for you to use it. This mirror is a bit more expensive, at $129.99, but it has built-in LED lights and has 10x magnification.
A Mirror That Mounts On Your Wall!
Zadro 10X/1X Next Generation LED Lighted Oval Wall Mount Mirror – This mirror gives you the best of both worlds with two magnifying sides. Side one has 1x magnification, perfect for applying makeup with precision while side two has 10x magnification for tweezing. Plus this mirror mounts to your wall so that you never need to worry about knocking it over on your makeup counter.
I’m looking for a 10x vanity mirror, lighted, that doesn’t distort when your a foot away, or if your up close to it for tweezing. I have had dozens mailed to my house and I return them all. I know they are out there because I have one but it doesn’t light up. Mine is 20 years old and I love it but I need the light now. I read so much about mirrors and I disagree with a lot of what is said.
There aren’t any great mirrors, any longer. But for women with vision unlike ours these are good. You and I have to do the best we can. If you find the perfect mirror, please, please let me know and I will announce it to our women and acknowledge you. Thank you for sharing. Warmly, Honey
Incorporating an audio ready to listen to clip of this article is well-received. Thank you for this list, will definitely share this write up to my mom. Best!
You are very welcome. My pleasure. Warmly, Honey
I need a hand held Magnifying Makeup Mirror, have you seen that? Great post by the way.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend one. Have you gone on line? Warmly, Honey

I just found hand held magnifying mirrors at Bed Bath & Beyond. Just had laser cataract surgery and can’t see to put on eye makeup.
GREAT!!!!! hope your surgery went well. Warmly,Honey
Zadro makes the best 15 mag. mirror!
Thank you so much for the info. We women need each other!!! Warmly, Honey
Would you comment on facial hair removers please?
Olay made a great one but no longer does. What’s a great replacement. Self care methods only!
What “appliance” works best? There is one advertised on tv but I think it’s just an electric shaver in a lipstick tube. Ads say you can use every day! That’s not what we ladies need. We need a hair remover not a shaver.
What is safe, not creating more hair and easy to use?
Please help!
Thanks!

My girlfriend uses a little electric type shaver and loves it. The hair does not grow back thicker. Also, there is the old fashioned wax. I use to watch my girlfriend in college wax her face and legs. She had a tin of wax that she heated and a stick like the Doctor used to put on our tongue to see our throat. When it dried, she ripped off the wax. Two choices. I would go for #1!!! Warmly, Honey
