Weekend Musings: DIY Plant Holders, Cardio & More!

We are fast approaching June 21st, the first day of summer. As we live in a new age—some might call it the digital age—it’s interesting to see how the way we connect and celebrate has changed over time. Reflecting on the past, I realize how different our experiences are now compared to previous years, yet the joy of gathering remains. I am feeling like my old self again, going out to eat and celebrating Shelly’s birthday at a restaurant last week was a dream. I even got to wear a fashionable designer mask from my very own daughter, Jenny. You can find it on my Instagram and my Facebook. I’ve also enjoyed seeing pictures of your DIY flower arrangements from last week’s musings – so beautiful. It’s always interesting to see the different perspectives and creativity from the community, reminding us of the value of sharing our unique viewpoints.

I hope you all had a blessed week and are remembering the importance of feeling grateful for something or someone (or both!) each and every day. Many times, weekends bring opportunities for reflection or connection, and nurturing the mind through reading books or exploring new ideas can be especially rewarding. I am grateful for family, and I want to acknowledge the role parents play in our gatherings and support systems.

As I head into my Weekend Musings, I decided to focus on activities that bring growth and joy. It takes effort to make weekends meaningful, but possibly that’s what makes them so special. I encourage you to approach the weekend with an open mind and a grateful headspace, appreciating the different perspectives we all bring.

Time Management and Productivity: Making the Most of Your Weekend

Weekends are a precious gift—a chance to step back from the hustle of the week and focus on what truly matters. With a little thoughtful planning and a dash of creativity, you can turn your weekends into a time of rest, fun, and meaningful connection with friends and family.

Start by taking a moment on Friday to reflect on your goals and dreams for the weekend. Is there a book you’ve been wanting to read, a funny video on YouTube you’ve been meaning to watch, or perhaps a delicious new recipe you’d love to try? Jot down your ideas on your phone or in a notebook, and prioritize the things that will bring you the most joy and fulfillment.

Balancing productivity with relaxation is key. Maybe you have a few errands to run or some work to catch up on, but don’t forget to carve out time for rest and enjoyment. Plan a family dinner, invite friends over for a cozy evening, or take the kids on a walk to discover a new corner of your neighborhood. Even a simple gathering or a spontaneous party at your house can turn an ordinary weekend into a memorable one.

If you’re looking to learn and grow, consider attending a local symposium, listening to a podcast, or diving into a new book. Weekends are also a wonderful opportunity to focus on self-care—whether that means practicing yoga, enjoying a glass of wine, or simply taking a few hours to relax and recharge. Remember, the beauty of the weekend lies in its flexibility; you get to decide how to spend your time.

Don’t be afraid to try something new. Host a themed party, experiment with a new writing project, or plan a fun outing with loved ones. Volunteering, exploring a new shop, or even just taking a mindful walk can add a spark of interest to your days. The important thing is to be present, enjoy the moment, and appreciate the little things that make life special.

Ultimately, weekends are about more than just checking off tasks—they’re about living fully, loving deeply, and creating memories with the people who matter most. So as you plan your next weekend, focus on what makes you feel alive and happy. Whether you’re laughing with friends, enjoying a delicious meal, or simply taking time to rest, make each moment count.

With a bit of planning and a kind heart, you can turn every weekend into a celebration of life, love, and the beauty of living. Enjoy, and happy planning!

15 Minute FAT BURNING Indoor Walking Workout

Looking for a quick and easy fat burning exercise you can do right from your home? Well, look no further. This workout requires some effort, but it’s a wonderful way to burn a few calories right in front of your computer. Before you start, make sure to get your head in the right place and focus on your mindset for the best results. And, it’s mostly walking! So, this is a great low-impact workout if you need it.

Have fun and let’s sweat!

Easy Sourdough Bread

Darling, I’ve been seeing all over social media people making bread! Apparently it’s a thing many people have taken up during quarantine. It’s interesting to see so many people baking, and many are turning to books or cookbooks to learn new recipes like sourdough. Sourdough and making Soughdough starters seem to be the most popular!

Bread-making has been a tradition passed down through generations in the past, and it’s wonderful to see it revived now. The importance of homemade food has really come to light during quarantine, as people find comfort and satisfaction in baking at home. Of course, making sourdough bread or starting a sourdough starter takes real effort, but the results are so rewarding!

I love this video because the young chef who makes the bread is so personable and fun!

Have you made any homemade bread lately? Let me know in the comments at the bottom of this page!

DIY | 5 Minute Macrame Planters

Based on your feedback, I decided to continue the DIY theme and find another interesting and easy project for you all to try.

These macrame planters can be made in under ten minutes, and look so beautiful! While they are quick to make, they do require some effort and attention to detail, which makes the process even more rewarding. If you decide to make one, please send me a picture. I would love to see it!
