Just as every woman has developed their own “look” every woman has developed their own morning routine. We are all so unique don’t you think, darlings? However, I decided it would be fun to give you a look inside of my own morning makeup routine. I know some women do more and some women do less, but I wanted to give you a taste of just what I feel is necessary to do every morning.
Nothing starts until I wash my face. I know not everyone does this and there is a debate about how beneficial it is for your skin, but it’s a great way to wake me up and gives me a fresh palette for my daily makeup. I’ve told you before I use Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. I really like the line and it helps me perk up bright and early each morning. I finish up my face wash with a day cream that is much lighter than the rich cream I use at night. I also chose a cream with regenerative anti-aging properties.
The final addition to my face before I start the fun cosmetics stuff is broad-spectrum sunblock. I use SPF 60 from the La Roche Posay line. This is important for women over 50 whether they live in a warm or cold climate. You can never protect your skin enough from harmful rays! I think this is so important that my foundation also has an SPF of 20. For that, I use La Mer soft fluid long wear foundation.
With a brush, I apply a highlighter. My highlighter of choice is Sisley l’orchidee rose by Sisley and then I use a blush as well. My blush of choice is NARS in Mata Hari. Grooming your eyebrows is also crucial. I use a NARS cream to fill them in. My color is Danakil.
I adore Tom Ford lipstick. I love so many of his colors, however, my everyday lipstick is Tom Ford’s Velvet Cherry. And finally, for mascara, I opt for Chanel Black. I understand the merits of waterproof mascara, but I don’t use it often because it is much too difficult to get off and lashes are so so delicate darlings. We need to protect them!
So that is my process and my products! I would love to hear about your morning makeup routine! Let me know your process is the comments below or join the conversation on Facebook.
