Ask Honey – How to Make Your Dreams Come True

How to Make Your Dreams Come True in Elsewhere

I am going to take my magic wands, gifts from my daughter-in-law, Jami Good, and my Ultimate Concierge, Sheldon Good, and wave them over Elsewhere.

I believe in magic (though I will admit I help it along!) and I am pretending to hold them over your head while I say to you, “Harvest a list of positive hopes and dreams during this month of September with passion and purpose and your wishes will come true.”

My only request is that you have a positive outlook and a relentless attitude to harvest your aspirations in Elsewhere and in your life.

The leaves will soon begin to turn colors. Let their bright colors light your path as you turn over a new leaf. Give yourself a shot in the arm, darling. I am asking you to make your January resolutions now. Imagine what your life could look like if you pursued your dreams.

Sit down with a cup of coffee or tea in a quiet spot and make your list. And, I ask you to be authentic. Listen to your heart. It knows. Many people have realized new possibilities when they take time to reflect on their dreams.

As you write down your dreams, you may find yourself realizing which ones truly matter to you. Sometimes, revisiting an old idea or dream can inspire new action.

Most people feel pressure living in Elsewhere, but can still find hope. We are dying to throw open our front door, toss off our masks, show our smiling faces to our family and friends as we run down our streets, without fear, yelling, “I am free! I am free!” It would be so nice to live the life we knew last February.

Don’t wait for the perfect moment—start living your dreams now. Even in challenging times, pursuing your dreams can make you feel more alive.

Find Your Personal Calling

We can dream of normal life in Elsewhere. Dreams do come true when you ‘work’ at a plan. Achieving your calling requires both planning and taking small steps, as each small step brings you closer to your goals. Your work at this moment is to discover what you would love your calling to be.

You have physically worked raising your family and many of you have had outside careers. Now it is your time to work for personal fulfillment especially if you are beginning to feel empty after living so many days and nights in Elsewhere. Taking consistent steps and having a clear plan can help you accomplish your goals. Gaining knowledge about yourself and your desires is crucial for planning your next steps. Writing down your plans or reflecting on what you wrote in the past can help clarify your calling. Feeling excited and experiencing joy are signs you are on the right path. Your job or past jobs may have contributed valuable experience to your journey. Taking care of your body matters in sustaining your energy for your calling. Imagine your calling as a person guiding you toward fulfillment. What truly matters is aligning your plans with your deepest desires.

My Love Affair with Fairies

I have always had a love affair with fairies. I give fairies as gifts to my favorite people in my life. My mother has had her fairy, a gift from me 25 years ago. It is still hanging where I hung her. She is all white and when there is a soft breeze she moves slightly letting my mom know she is there. Giving from the heart feels effortless, and over the years, this tradition of gifting fairies has happened and continues happening in our family.

When my granddaughter was probably five years old I gifted her a fairy with a note that I wrote that read, “Always keep this fairy in your bedroom(s.) She will guard and protect you.” Writing such notes adds soul to the gift, making it even more meaningful. My granddaughter is moving into her first apartment… with her fairy. Seeing her protected by the fairy feels like a dream come true.

I feel I have a fairy godmother who has guarded and protected me over the years because I want to believe in fairies. Period! In reality, I know I am my own Fairy God Mother… with attitude! And, so are you. We have to ‘work’ to make our dreams come true.

When You Wish Upon a Star

Darling, it is essential to have some attitude, good common sense, and authenticity to make your dreams come true. Resolve and authenticity complete your recipe.

I love the title of the song, When You Wish Upon a Star from the movie, Pinocchio. And, I love the title of Van Gogh’s painting, Starry Night, because I hope, like you, that all my dreams will come true. It is delightful to dream and I have seen many of my dreams coming true when I turn my wish or a dream into a plan and start making your dreams come alive with actionable plans and persistent effort.

You, too, can shape your dream into something important to you. As you move forward, the feeling of accomplishing each milestone will keep you excited and motivated. But, you have to work hard. Taking small steps and taking consistent steps toward your goals is what truly matters. Remember one of my mottos, “If you let fear stop you, you will never get started.” Dreams are coming true through persistent effort, and most people can achieve a dream come true with the right mindset and belief.

Be a dreamer and a doer. You can wish upon a star as I do. But I know, and you know, we cannot entrust our hopes and wishes to stars. You must work in your dream. Your plan and your work enable you to reach for your star! The point is, persistence and focusing on what matters most will help you accomplish your goals.

dreams come true, darling!

The Magic of Community and Support

Dreaming big is a beautiful thing, but making your dreams happen often requires more than just your own determination—it takes a village. In real life, having a supportive community and friends who believe in your vision can be the most important thing in turning your dreams into reality. When you surround yourself with people who share your excitement and hope for the future, every step forward feels lighter, and every challenge becomes more manageable.

Think about the energy that comes from being around like-minded souls—those who inspire you to keep moving forward, even when fears or doubts creep in. Whether it’s a friend who listens to your ideas, a family member who cheers you on, or a group of passionate individuals you meet online, their encouragement can help you stay motivated and take consistent steps toward your goals. The power of support is real: it can transform a simple dream into a vision that feels possible, even on the toughest days.

In today’s world, it’s easier than ever to find your tribe. Social media, online forums, and local meetups connect us with people who share our desires and dreams. These connections can provide the inspiration and guidance you need to create a plan, stay on track, and make progress, no matter how small the steps may seem. Every bit of encouragement adds up, fueling your journey and helping you realize that you’re not alone.

For example, a motivational speaker with a strong support system can use their platform to inspire others, creating a ripple effect of positivity and hope. Their success is often rooted in the belief and encouragement they receive from their community—proof that dreams come true when we lift each other up.

So, darling, don’t underestimate the magic of community and support. Let your friends, family, and fellow dreamers be the light that guides you, the energy that keeps you going, and the inspiration that helps you achieve what you once only dreamed of. Together, you can create a world where dreams come true, one small step at a time. Remember, the journey is sweeter and the success even brighter when shared with those who have your best interest at heart.

How to Get From Here to There When You Are Stuck

It is disconcerting to find yourself standing still in your life. After living so many days in Elsewhere it is very easy to do.

I suggest you look for clues when you find yourself standing still. Maybe you are trying to go after something and your heart is not in it? Or maybe you want to do many things and cannot pick the one? Or maybe you start and then drop the ball? Ask yourself what is holding you back. Realizing which choices support or hinder your dreams is key to moving forward. Take a moment to explain your motivations to yourself for greater clarity. Write down your thoughts—writing can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and understanding your true desire. I once wrote about how reflecting on what had happened in my past and what was happening in my life helped me move forward. Sometimes, taking a break or giving yourself rest is necessary to recharge and care for your body. Remember, a job or managing your money can be part of the process, and how you spend or have spent your time and resources shapes your journey. Negotiate a good deal with yourself or others to overcome obstacles, and make sure you have planned steps and clear plans for moving ahead. Imagine if this year were a person—how would you want them to live? Pursuing your dreams impacts not just your own life, but the lives of others, leading to growth and fulfillment. Gaining knowledge from reflection helps you move from only a dream to real action. When you align your actions with your true desire and pursue your passion, the journey often feels effortless.

When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those to love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
