I love the holidays! However, for some of my friends and family, holiday months equal stress; especially during COVID-19… but they don’t have to!

I have found that the easiest way to embrace and enjoy the holidays is to draw inspiration from the world around you. I adore the Thanksgiving tablescapes I am sharing below and I hope they provide some inspiration for your small or personal gatherings. Just because you may only be celebrating over Zoom or with your partner, it doesn’t mean you can’t make your space look beautiful and uplift your spirits.

Always Grateful

I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am so grateful, as I often say, for you and our community. No matter how stunning your tablescape is, or how simple, let’s all remember that it is what is in our hearts, not on our plates, that brings us joy. Happy Thanksgiving, darlings!

As well, as you set your beautiful tables, I hope my story is a perfectly timed inspiration for any type of gathering, that will be absolutely filled to the brim with kindness, peace, and abundance. That is what really matters!

Many years ago, a last-minute shopping trip led to one of the best Thanksgivings of my life. My daughter had her heart set on a zebra print Thanksgiving tablecloth and so, amidst the brining and the baking, the two of us set off on an impromptu shopping trip that left my belly sore from giggling and my heart full of love. Read the story of the zebra tablecloth here.

And just in case you, like me, DO find yourself shopping for holiday goods close to said holiday, I’m sharing product links for some of the tablescapes that made my list today.

    Honey,
Your tablescapes are beautiful and will lend good cheer to all during this strange Thanksgiving holiday. I have a question though which might sound silly but is serious, well, for me anyway.
We serve our meals “family style” with many big platters of food on the table which we pass around and then set down on the table in case anyone wants second helpings
Where, on your beautifully decorated table, will there be room for the platters of food?

    • Susan "Honey" Good says:

In our dining room we have a buffet piece that is attached to one of the walls. It is long and I line my platters on the buffet piece. If I have six for dinner and it is casual I line the platters down the middle of our table and it is like a fondue party!! Self serve and fun. Happy turkey day! Warmly, Honey

  2. Margo says:

We are visiting my son in his New Hampshire cabin which was uninhabitable just a few months ago. We are “roughing it” with a makeshift table cut from raw pine just a week ago. He got very insulted when I told him I had a tablecloth packed so I made a set of placemats yesterday from a yard of material I had on hand and material from some old drapes I had stashed. Visiting him is our escape from elsewhere and we are thankful that we are healthy and able to be together. For sure it will be a very different Tablescapes this year!

What an awesome adventure! I used to spend the summer in Maine and New Hampshire. Some of the happiest days of my life. You certainly won’t feel like you are in Elsewhere. And, what a good mom you are! I hope your son gives you hugs and kisses for your effort to make this Thanksgiving special. Happy Turkey Day! Warmly, Honey
